Growing up in Accra, Ghana, Gifty Gershon's earliest memories are filled with the vibrant colors and intricate patterns of her grandmother's textile shop. As a child, she would spend hours watching skilled artisans transform simple fabrics into stunning garments that told stories of heritage and identity.
"My grandmother would say, 'Every pattern has a voice, every color has a meaning,'" Gifty recalls. "She taught me that fashion isn't just about clothing—it's about preserving our stories and celebrating who we are."
After years in the global fashion industry, Gifty felt a growing disconnect between international fashion trends and the rich traditions of African design. This inspired her to create Adepam, a platform that bridges traditional African fashion techniques with modern technology.
